The Living Room

When entering through the door we were looking into a strange tunnel system. The texture of the walls looked mushy and there was a regular beating sound. Along the passages flowed some kind of fluid. Dizzy level 8 Human Ranger scouted ahead and spotted what he told us was a grick. Further he told us they usually stalk their pray and prefer to attack from behind.

The Living Room 1

Dizzy fired two arrows at the grick, which backed into a tunnel and disappeared. A large beast looking like a blind lizard (with a huge mouth) appeared on the other side instead. It made a strange bursting sound attack down the hallway hitting most of us. Kray level 8 Human Wizard, Neiva level 8 Halfling Bard and Aeylin level 8 Eladrin Warlock moved out of the way into a side passage for cover. There a foulspawn was waiting.

The Living Room 2

The grick seemed to scare off easy by the fray. Aeylin and Neiva followed it around the bend. Aeylin made a killing blast, ridding us of the stalking worm. Suddenly the the steady beats in the system seemed to beat faster, as if the caves were nervous over the slayed habitant. Kray decided to help Dizzy moving a second foulspawn and the lizard creature away with a burst attack. He stepped out of the flank for Kolodin level 8 Halfling Rogue and managed to miss all targets but Dizzy. Surely there was some benefit in this, Kray‘s plans always are.

The Living Room 3

As we regrouped and focused our fire the system started changing too. The passage we had come through grew shut, as if the walls were living. A little later another passage shut. Beating down the aggressive habitants of the system we were suddenly surrounded by some kind of gas. It was pouring down the main tunnel. The creatures already slain seemed to dissolve in the gas. Neiva was first to get a chance to run down the tunnel and examine. One of the walls was pulsating in a glowing purple…
